Bali's Exports Of Textiles Down 14.52 Percent

Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali exported US$85.82 million worth of textile sand textile products in the first 11 months of 2016, down 14.52 percent  from US$100.4 million  in the same period in the previous year.

"The exports in volume dropped 41.78 percent to 50.78 million pieces  in the January-November period of 2016 from 85.82 million pieces in the same period in 2015," head of the foreign trade division of the trade office of the province  Made Suastika  said here on Thursday.

Made said textiles and textile product  accounted for 16.65 percent of the province's  total export value of US$515.58 million, which rose from US$443.29 million in the 11 month period.

Bali's textile and textile products are all small and medium entrepreneurs' manual products which are higher in quality and price.

Made Suastika  said the main buyers of Bali's textiles and textile products are the United States accounting for 32.81 percent, followed by Australia  accounting for 19.80 percent and Singapore for 12.63 percent.

Smaller exports in volume have also been made to Hong Kong, China, Japan, Thailand and Europe. (WDY)
