President Joko Widodo Leaves for Germany After Visiting Turkey

Ankara (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo left for Germany on Thursday evening after completing his state visit to Turkey.

Flanked by First Lady Iriana, President Jokowi, as he is also called, left Ankaras Esenboga Havalimani airport at 6.45pm after completing all his agendas in his two-day state visit to Turkey.

He made the state visit to Turkey to return the visit of Turkish president Erdogan to Indonesia two years ago to strengthen commitments for cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

President Jokowi said that it was an honor for him to be able to meet the invitation of President Erdogan to visit Turkey.

"Indonesia and Turkey have huge cooperation potential to develop. During the meeting with President Erdogan I have conveyed a number of areas for concrete and prioritized cooperation such as trade, defense investment, energy and counter-terrorism," President Jokowi said during a joint press conference with President Erdogan at the White Palace where bilateral meetings has been held.

Two cooperation documents have been signed during the state visit covering health and negotiation for Indonesia-Turkey Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IT-CEPA).

President Jokowi also accompanied by foreign minister Retno Marsudi, cabinet secretary Pramono Anung and head of Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong will attend G20 Summit in Hamburg, Germany. (*)
