Beijing (Antara Bali) - A number of Regional Representative Council (DPD) members took the opportunity to try the comfort of China's high-speed train (HST) in the Shanghai-Beijing route on the sidelines of their visit to the country.
"We see that this high-speed train is able to help mobilize the people in carrying out their activities to increase China's economic growth," Committee II Chairman of the DPD, Parlindungan Purba, said here on Wednesday night.
During their five-hour journey from Shanghai to Beijing, six members of the DPR also enjoyed the mountainous views from the train, which has a speed of 350 kilometers (km) per hour.
"The development here is extraordinary thanks to the fast development of connectivity," Parlindungan stated.
He urged the government to quickly realize the development of the HST in order to develop the Jakarta-Bandung route.
The DPD member revealed that the development of the Jakarta-Bandung HST was hampered by three issues, namely master plan, availability of land, and funding.
The DPD members also studied the wind power technology in Shanghai. (WDY)
