Indonesia Condemns Israeli Violence At Al-aqsa

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia has condemned the violence committed by Israeli security forces that led to the deaths of three people in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

"Indonesia has condemned the violence committed by Israeli security forces that has resulted in the deaths of three congregation members and left more than 100 others wounded at the Al-Aqsa mosque," the foreign ministry noted in a press release received here on Saturday.

The Indonesian government rejected any form of violence and violation of human rights, including the killing of congregation members, who were seeking to exercise their right to conduct religious duties at the Al-Aqsa mosque.

In connection with this, it has called on the United Nations to immediately hold a meeting and take action to stop violence by the Israeli forces at the Al-Aqsa Mosque grounds.

Indonesia has also urged the Organization of Islamic Conference to immediately conduct an emergency meeting to discuss the situation at the Al-Aqsa complex.

The Indonesian government has again warned Israel to not attempt to change the status quo of the Al Aqsa compound, so that the holy places of the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock would remain accessible to all Muslims.

Indonesia has called on all parties to exercise restraint, so that the situation does not deteriorate further.(*)
