6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Northern Philippines

Manila (Antara Bali/Xinhua-OANA) - An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted northern Philippines at 3:32 a.m. Sunday ( local time), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The epicenter of the quake was about 43 km west of San Antonio in northern province of Zambales with a depth of 85 km, Phivolcs said.

Tremor was felt in the country's capital region of Metro Manila, San Mateo of Rizal province and Obando of Bulacan.

No casualties have been reported so far.

The USGS earlier reported a 5.8 magnitude quake. (WDY)
