Author of 'The Avengers' Brian Clemens dies

London (AFP / Antara Bali) - Screenwriter British, Brian Clemens, who wrote the famous series 'The Avengers', had breathed his last at the age of 83 years, according to his son George on Monday.

He died at a hospital in London on Saturday, said George Clemens told the BBC, adding that: "The world has lost a remarkable man who has a lot to contribute."

Clemens wrote the initial episode of 'The Avengers', starring Patrick Macnee series, Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg.

He also worked on many manuscripts series like 'The Professionals' and 'Perry Mason', as well as two production Hammer horror films and 'Highlander II: The quickening'.

"The script has been enliven almost every action drama series on television screens during the last 50," according to the British Film Institute.

Clemens getting the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2010 for his contribution in the world of broadcasting. He said "the award is a motivation for the workers behind the scenes - including one of mine."
