Gianyar (Antara Bali) - The Papua provincial soccer team of Persipura
Jayapura defeated the host team Bali United 2-1 at the match of the
Indonesian highest football competition level of Liga 1 (one), Sunday
afternoon.
During the match which was held at the "Kapten I Wayan Diptha"
stadium in Gianyar, Bali on the day, the Persipura`s striker Marinus
Manewar scored a goal in the 4th minute.
Left behind by one goal, Bali United tried to catch up and obtained
opportunities to score the goals through Sylviano Comvalius in the 6th
minute, 10 minutes and 16 minutes.
However, the kicks of the Bali United`s player were well-anticipated by Persipura goalkeeper, Yoo Jaehoon.
In addition, Irfan Bachdim`s kick of the Bali United in the 31st
minute and his header in the 34 minute also failed to net a goal.
The single goal for the Bali United was created in the 31st minute through the left leg kick of Sylviano Comvalius.
An additional goal for the Persipura occurred after the defender of
Bali United, Abdul Rahman kicked the ball into his own goal in the 42nd
minute, thus changing the scoreboard to 2-1 for the Persipura.
In the meantime, the Bali United`s coach Hans Peter Schaleer
admitted, this defeat is quite disappointing but the team has struggled
to play maximally.
A total of 18 soccer teams are participating in the Liga 1 competition.
They are Arema FC, Bali United, Barito Putera, Bhayangkara FC,
Persegres Gresik, Madura United, Mitra Kukar, Persela Lamongan, Perseru
Serui, Persib Bandung, Persiba Balikpapan, Persija Jakarta, Persipura
Jayapura, PS TNI, PSM Makassar, Pusamania Borneo, Semen Padang, and
Sriwijaya FC.
The All Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) used the Liga 1 to
replace the previous Indonesian Super League for the first level of the
